VP - Azure Cloud Platform Engineer – EMEA

My reputable global financial service client is building up their cloud team in Dublin. We are hiring a senior Azure Cloud Platform professional to take regional responsibility for a regulated, enterprise-scale cloud environment supporting critical banking services acrossEMEA. You will own and enhance the Azure platform, support both cloud-native innovation and the migration and modernisation of legacy banking systems.

What you'll do:

• This is a hands-on engineering position with broader influence over cloud platform strategy. You will work closely with Architecture, Infrastructure, Information Security, Risk, Compliance, Data and Audit teams.
• Regional responsibility for the EMEA cloud platform, supporting banking operations and regulated workloads across multiple jurisdictions
• Ownership of the Azure cloud platform underpinning critical business services and customer-facing applications
• Supports both:
• Cloud-native platforms and digital innovation initiatives
• Migration and modernisation of legacy and on-premises banking systems
• Accountability for central cloud services including identity, access control, network security, shared hosting platforms, observability, and resilience
• Operating within a regulated environment aligned to regulatory requirements, operational resilience frameworks, and internal risk policies
• Working closely with Architecture, Infrastructure, Data, Information Security, Risk, Compliance, and Audit functions
• Acting as a senior technical contributor with hands-on engineering responsibility while influencing broader platform strategy

What you'll bring:

• Deep hands-on Microsoft Azure experience within enterprise or regulated environments
• Strong knowledge of Azure landing zones, management groups, Azure Policy and governance frameworks
• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift and container platform engineering
• Strong Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code experience
• Experience building automated, auditable CI/CD and deployment pipelines
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, zero-trust, identity, encryption and access controls
• Experience designing highly available, resilient and disaster-recovery-ready platforms
• Strong Azure networking experience, including VPN, ExpressRoute and hybrid cloud connectivity
• Experience integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud platforms
• Previous experience within banking, financial services or another regulated industry
• Exposure to AWS or GCP would be advantageous.
