Risk & Compliance Analyst
A leading wealth management organisation is seeking a dedicated Risk and Compliance Analyst to join their Dublin based team.
About the Role
To provide dedicated support to the Head of Risk and Compliance in implementing and
maintaining the Firm's risk and compliance framework. This role ensures effective
monitoring, reporting, and coordination of risk and compliance activities, enabling the
Head of Risk and Compliance to meet governance obligations and strategic objectives.
This role is designated as a Control Function (CF) under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity Regime. The successful candidate will be required to meet and continue to meet the Fitness and Probity Standards issued by the Central Bank of Ireland
What you'll do:
- Implement the firm’s risk-based compliance monitoring program, through effective execution of compliance monitoring testing and advisory reviews.
- Carry out due diligence, including AML reviews on contractual counterparts.
- Identify, assess and analyse compliance breaches, working with the business to remediate compliance issues.
- Review and amend policies and procedures to meet Irish regulatory standards.
- Assist in carrying out fitness and probity annual reviews and applications.
- Analyse and interpret regulatory and legislative changes.
- Assist in maintaining the organisation's risk register by ensuring all updates are completed accurately and within required time frames, supporting ongoing risk oversight.
- Support the preparation of Board and Risk Committee reports through data collation, drafting documentation, and ensuring timely delivery of key information.
- Coordinate risk appetite training sessions for staff members, maintain comprehensive training records, and help foster a culture of compliance awareness throughout the business.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of risk monitoring plans, policies, and procedures that align with both local and group-wide standards.
- Facilitate the risk and control self-assessment process by gathering relevant data, documenting findings meticulously, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor progress on risk management actions by tracking outstanding items, escalating overdue issues to senior leadership as necessary to ensure accountability.
- Provide administrative and analytical support for various risk testing activities, including monitoring exercises designed to identify potential areas of concern.
- Liaise regularly with first-line business teams to collect information needed for effective risk oversight and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
- Assist with regulatory horizon scanning by tracking changes in regulations, supporting implementation plans for new requirements, and helping ensure ongoing compliance.
- Maintain detailed records related to employee preclearance, disclosures, attestations, complaints handling, and conduct risk processes in accordance with internal policies.
What you bring:
- Previous experience within wealth management or financial services environments where exposure to risk or compliance functions has been gained is highly desirable.
- A degree or equivalent experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Finance or a closely related discipline would be advantageous for this position.
- Some knowledge of MiFID regulations as well as familiarity with Irish regulatory frameworks is preferred but not essential if you demonstrate willingness to learn quickly.
- Highly organised approach with proven ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
- Demonstrated integrity when handling sensitive information coupled with discretion at all times is essential for this role.
- Excellent time management skills enabling you to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality or professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal abilities that allow you to collaborate effectively within teams as well as engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are required so that complex information can be conveyed clearly both internally and externally.
- Meticulous attention to detail ensures that all documentation produced meets rigorous standards expected within regulated environments.
- A positive attitude combined with enthusiasm for learning new concepts quickly will help you adapt successfully within this fast evolving sector.
