Compliance Specialist
A leading global investment management organisation is seeking a Compliance Specialist to join their Dublin based team, supporting the oversight and management of regulatory and other risks across Ireland and key European jurisdictions
What you'll do:
- Monitor investment restriction breaches and guideline exceptions for Irish-domiciled funds, including sustainability commitments across the platform.
- Conduct reviews of potential investment vehicles against relevant regulations and fund documentation for both internal portfolios and external mandates.
- Liaise regularly with fund managers regarding investment issues within the product range, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support ongoing communication with depositaries by maintaining logs and reviewing regulatory reports related to fund operations.
- Oversee quarterly investment management questionnaires and due diligence processes for investment managers operating within the business.
- Assist in reviewing fund documentation prior to launch as well as during ongoing operations to ensure regulatory alignment.
- Roll out, track, and review quarterly employee declarations while overseeing personal trading monitoring systems for compliance purposes.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures that foster a culture of integrity, risk management, and operational excellence within the investments business.
- Identify potential risks and compliance issues associated with new products, services, or jurisdictions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Review marketing materials and RFPs for regulated investment activities to ensure adherence to legal standards before approval.
What you bring:
- Demonstrated passion for compliance within asset management or investment funds industry supported by at least three years’ experience in investment compliance roles.
- Broad understanding of legal frameworks governing Irish (and EU) investments regulation including MiFID II as well as UCITS & AIFMD requirements relevant to fund operations.
- Familiarity with various fund structures, types of funds (UCITS/AIFs), asset classes; experience in fund compliance is particularly advantageous.
- Ability to take initiative when assigned responsibilities while maintaining ownership over tasks from inception through completion.
- Proven capacity to prioritise activities efficiently when managing multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with internal stakeholders (senior leaders) as well as external parties (regulators/depositaries).
- Fluent English language skills essential for clear written/verbal communication across international jurisdictions.
- Current or previous experience within Risk/Audit/Compliance groups at asset management firms or regulatory advisory organisations highly valued.
- Commitment to upholding conduct standards under Individual Accountability Framework; readiness for CF2 role responsibilities under Central Bank of Ireland regime.
