Senior Manager, FICC Trade Support & Controls
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager to join a leading global financial institution in Dublin, supporting the dynamic world of Capital Markets.
What you'll do:
As an Operations Manager - Global Trade Solutions based in Dublin, you will immerse yourself in the fast, moving world of Capital Markets Middle Office. Your days will be filled with engaging tasks that require both technical acumen and interpersonal finesse. You will collaborate with trading desks across Europe to ensure every trade is processed accurately from inception through its entire lifecycle.
- Act as the primary point of contact for European Trading Products desks on all matters related to trade analytics, discrepancies, amendments, allocations, and funding reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate booking and amendment of trades across various platforms, maintaining up-to-date records reflecting all life cycle events such as expiries, resets, dividends, and corporate actions.
- Execute day to day desk support activities efficiently and accurately while meeting tight deadlines and balancing multiple priorities.
- Support the resolution of trade discrepancies or exceptions by investigating issues thoroughly and escalating complex cases to management when necessary.
- Liaise closely with trading desks and internal stakeholders including Accounting, P&L, Market Risk, VPC, Audit, IT/PD teams to ensure new product setups are robustly implemented.
- Serve as a first line of defence by maintaining strong controls that minimise operational risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate actively in system migration and enhancement projects by conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) and assessing impacts on workflows.
- Compile risk metrics for management reporting purposes while proactively investigating and resolving position or payment discrepancies.
- Complete end-of-day processes including reconciliation checks to guarantee data integrity across systems.
- Maintain comprehensive procedure documentation that supports consistent operations and up-to-date best practices.
What you bring:
- A depth of experience in financial services with significant exposure to Capital Markets operations or middle office functions is required for this role.
- A university degree in a relevant discipline provides the academic foundation needed for success in this position.
- Advanced understanding of FICC products including Money Market CDs/ECPs, REPO/Tri-Party arrangements, Fixed Income instruments, FX products, Interest Rate Swaps, Derivatives (including futures & options) is essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of corporate actions events along with risk measures and drivers of profit & loss is highly valued.
- Proficiency in programming or spreadsheet automation using Python or VBA is crucial for driving process enhancements; familiarity with AI tools is advantageous.
- Experience participating in business change or market change projects showcases your adaptability within evolving environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial markets regulations and oversight bodies ensures adherence to compliance standards at all times.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills enable effective collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups within the organisation.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively under pressure while managing multiple tasks demonstrates your dependability and resilience.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel) are vital for data analysis; experience with trading systems such as Calypso, Bloomberg TOMS, Markitwire or Broadridge IMPACT/FINPRO/SFCM is beneficial.
