Data Platform Squad Lead | Agile Delivery | Investment Banking

Robert Walters is delighted to be partnering with a leading international banking group on the appointment of a Data Platform Squad Lead to join their expanding Data & Analytics Technology function in Dublin.

This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced Data Platform Delivery Lead, Technical Product Owner or Agile Data Manager to drive the delivery of strategic data platform initiatives supporting Corporate and Investment Banking operations across EMEA.

The Opportunity

As Data Platform Squad Lead, you will take ownership of a cross-functional data delivery squad comprising Architects, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Developers, Testers, Data Modellers and Data Governance specialists.

Acting as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, you will be responsible for defining priorities, managing delivery roadmaps and ensuring the successful implementation of enterprise data platform capabilities.

This role combines Agile leadership, stakeholder management and data platform delivery, making it ideal for candidates who enjoy operating at the intersection of technology, business and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Agile delivery squads focused on enterprise data platform initiatives
• Own and prioritise squad backlogs in line with business objectives
• Drive delivery of data ingestion, transformation and integration capabilities
• Oversee the implementation of scalable data platform solutions and reusable enterprise data assets
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews and Retrospectives
• Monitor delivery progress, risks and dependencies across multiple workstreams
• Produce stakeholder reporting through JIRA dashboards and management updates
• Collaborate with technology, data governance and business teams across EMEA
• Remove delivery blockers and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead, mentor and develop high-performing delivery teams
• Operate within a wider Scrum of Scrums framework supporting enterprise-wide transformation programmes.

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who possess:

• Experience leading delivery of enterprise-scale data platforms or data transformation programmes
• Strong Agile delivery expertise, including Scrum and Scrum of Scrums methodologies
• Previous experience as a Technical Product Owner, Squad Lead, Delivery Lead or Data Platform Manager
• Strong backlog management and prioritisation experience
• Experience working with Atlassian JIRA
• Understanding of data governance principles and their impact on technology delivery
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate across all organisational levels
• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.

Highly Desirable Experience

• Banking, Capital Markets, Asset Management or Corporate Banking environments
• Data Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture concepts
• Exposure to Databricks-based platforms
• Knowledge of data governance and regulatory frameworks
• Understanding of ESG, HR or Corporate Banking data domains.
