Group Financial Controller
Are you a seasoned finance professional with a passion for leadership, technical excellence, and driving continuous improvement? A multinational organisation is with a large global presence is looking to hire a Group Financial Controller. This is a crucial role for the team where you will oversee financial control, reporting and treasury reporting while managing a team to ensure comprehensive financial reporting.
This role offers hybrid working, excellent salary on offer circa €120,000 level plus bonus and benefits.
Key Responsibilities of the Financial Controller
- Financial Reporting: Lead the consolidation, review, and publication of monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts. Provide timely and accurate financial information to internal stakeholders and external parties as required.
- Accounting Leadership: Ensure compliance with IFRS standards, manage accounting policies, and oversee the financial reporting consolidation system (experience with Oracle FCCS is advantageous).
- Controlling & Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators such as Gross Margin, EBITDA, Operating Profit, Cash Flow, and Working Capital metrics. Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust financial controls across the organisation. Address any control deficiencies identified through audits or reviews.
- Audit & Tax Compliance: Act as the primary liaison with auditors and fiscal regulators. Manage transfer pricing policies and ensure compliance with all tax matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- Risk Management: Oversee the organisation’s Risk Register and develop action plans to mitigate risks. Manage insurance programmes to ensure adequate coverage.
- Cash & Treasury Management: Proactively manage cash flow forecasts, foreign exchange risks, working capital metrics (DSO/DPO/DIO), and bank facility compliance.
- Team Leadership: Inspire and develop a high-performing finance team through coaching, succession planning, and performance management initiatives.
Key requirements of the Financial Controller
- A strong technical accounting background with expertise in IFRS standards.
- At least 10 years of senior finance leadership experience in a dynamic commercial environment.
- Proven ability to deliver significant process improvements within tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills to present complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong people management skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- A meticulous attention to detail combined with strategic vision to see the bigger picture.
- Experience managing audits, tax compliance, treasury functions, and risk management at a group level.
