Treasury Financial Analyst - Public Sector (two days office)

Robert Walters are partnering with a public sector body to hire a Financial Analyst for an initial 12 month FTC. This role is based in Dublin City Centre (two days office only). This role is open to both Part Qualified and Qualified Accountants so salary is in the €50,000 - €68,000 range DOE.

Key responsibilities of the Financial Analyst

As a Financial Analyst you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of treasury operations. You’ll be responsible for bank reconciliations, liquidity management, resolving suspense account transactions, and supporting process improvements. In addition to day-to-day operations, you’ll have the chance to participate in transformative projects such as banking service migrations and system upgrades.

This position offers a unique blend of business-as-usual responsibilities and involvement in organisational change initiatives, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Analyst

  • Perform bank and revenue reconciliations within strict control timelines.
  • Manage liquidity and execute internal banking transfers.
  • Investigate unresolved transactions and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for treasury operations.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
  • Collaborate with auditors, operators, and internal teams to address queries.
  • Support transformation projects like banking service migration and ticketing system upgrades.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives aimed at enhancing financial control and operational effectiveness.

Key requirements of the Financial Analyst

  • A minimum NFQ Level 7 qualification in finance, business, or a related discipline.
  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in monthly reporting preparation, reconciliations, and working within strong financial control environments.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis and reconciliation of large datasets.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in high-volume environments.
  • Evidence of contributing to process improvement or change initiatives.
  • Strong communication, relationship management, decision-making, and customer service skills.
  • Experience in treasury, banking, or cash management operations.
  • Familiarity with financial systems or ERP platforms.
  • Public sector or regulated environment experience.
  • Track record in driving process improvements or system implementations.
