Finance Business Partner - Property Development

Robert Walters are partnering with a prestigious property development group in Dublin City (four days office) to hire a Finance Business Partner. This is a highly commercial role where you will work closely with stakeholders to drive financial performance across projects and contribute to strategic decision-making. Salary circa €80,000 - €90,000 level. Previous experience in a similar industry is essential.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner

• Collaborate with directors and project leads to provide financial insights on projects.
• Monitor financial performance across all stages of architectural projects.
• Review budgets, fee schedules, labour costs, subcontractor costs, and margins.
• Analyse variances and identify risks to profitability (e.g., scope creep, write-offs).
• Support pricing decisions through commercial analysis and scenario modelling.
• Prepare forecasts for revenue, margin, overheads, and cash flow based on pipelines.
• Assist with headcount planning and resource allocation using financial data.
• Provide commentary on monthly results and emerging commercial issues.
• Evaluate new business opportunities and tenders from both public and private sectors.
• Work closely with the finance team to ensure robust project accounting practices.
• Identify and implement improvements to systems and processes, including AI tools.

Candidate Requirements:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline preferred.
• 5+ years post-qualification experience in a Finance Business Partner or similar role.
• Experience in project-based environments such as architecture, engineering, or consultancy is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of project accounting principles (WIP, revenue recognition).
• Advanced Excel skills essential; Power BI experience desirable.
