A fulfilling career path

I started my career in Retail Management with some of Ireland’s largest clothing and grocery names. From here I progressed and took on HR Management duties which included a vast number of tasks but two that stood out to me were recruiting internally for the store and developing the current employees on my team. I would take pride in someone progressing or helping them interview prep for a move outside of the organisation.

However, the desire for new challenges resonated with me, and it was during a conversation with a colleague and friend, James Brown, that the path to Robert Walters unfolded. A few weeks later, I found myself seated beside James in the Robert Walters office, ready to embark on a new chapter in my career.

Since joining Robert Walters in late 2019 and navigating through the uncertainties brought about by lockdowns, my career has seen steady progression. In early 2023, I stepped into the role of Senior Consultant. Later that same year, in Q4, I was promoted to Manager, marking a significant milestone in my professional journey.

At each step of my career advancement, RW has been instrumental in providing me with the guidance and resources needed to thrive. Exposure to seasoned colleagues both in Ireland and the UK gave me invaluable insights, shaping my approach as a Senior Consultant. The transition into management was made smoother through a structured adjustment period, allowing me to ease into my new responsibilities with confidence.

What I find most fulfilling about my role at RW is the opportunity to speak with new people. This is a crucial part of our role and one that is made easier with a good brand behind us. Whether it’s a first call with a potential candidate or client, representing the Robert Walters brand lends credibility and trust to my interactions.

My motivation to succeed is fuelled by various factors. From the rewards of achieving incentives and bonuses to the joy of providing for my family. I have been on a number of trips with company including Ibiza half year top biller, Formula 1 100k club achiever, multiple 100k quarter trips and Michelin star lunch incentives.
