Investment Compliance Manager

This highly visible position sits at the intersection of Investments, Trading, Legal, Compliance, and Technology, providing you with broad exposure across the organisation’s global platform. You will lead a dedicated team responsible for translating complex client mandates and regulatory requirements into actionable compliance rules that support portfolio management and trading activities.

What you'll do:

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team responsible for implementing investment guidelines and ensuring effective governance across client portfolios.
• Interpret complex client mandates, investment restrictions, and regulatory requirements to create actionable compliance rules that support portfolio management.
• Partner closely with investment, operations, legal and compliance stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Client Servicing, Legal, Product, Portfolio Compliance, and Operations teams to operationalise investment discretion language and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the implementation and governance of compliance rules within the firm's compliance monitoring framework.
• Act as a key escalation point for complex guideline matters including client-specific restrictions, UCITS requirements, and regulatory interpretations.
• Support interactions with clients, custodians, depositaries, and regulators as required to ensure seamless communication and adherence to compliance standards.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiencies across the guidelines function to enhance scalability and consistency.
• Ensure best practices are maintained across guideline implementation processes while promoting knowledge sharing within the team.

What you bring:

• Experience in investment compliance or related asset management functions such as portfolio compliance or trade compliance within an investment management environment.
• Proven track record interpreting, implementing, monitoring or overseeing investment guidelines, restrictions or client mandates in financial markets.
• Strong understanding of financial markets and relevant regulations such as UCITS or AIFMD.
• Experience partnering with Portfolio Managers, Trading teams, Legal Affairs or Compliance departments to resolve complex guideline or regulatory matters.
• Previous people management experience demonstrating leadership qualities through coaching or mentoring team members effectively.
• Excellent analytical skills combined with problem-solving abilities that enable you to manage stakeholder relationships efficiently using a hands-on approach.
• Experience with investment compliance or order management systems is advantageous.
• Exposure to supporting fixed income strategies alongside multi-asset derivatives or alternative investments would be beneficial for this role.
• Experience implementing technology-enabled controls including automation initiatives or process improvements within compliance functions is desirable.
• Proficiency in SQL programming language Python business intelligence tools Bloomberg terminal usage CFA CAIA MBA qualifications or additional European language skills are considered valuable assets.
