What you'll do:
- Advise on the establishment and operation of private and alternative investment funds including hedge funds, real estate funds, private equity vehicles, closed-end funds, and qualifying investor structures across various jurisdictions.
- Provide guidance on the creation and regulation of UCITS and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), ensuring compliance with relevant Irish and European legislation.
- Support clients through the full investment lifecycle, from initial fund formation through deployment of capital to eventual realisation or restructuring of assets.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in Dublin and internationally as part of global client teams, delivering seamless solutions tailored to each client’s needs.
- Interpret and apply regulations affecting fund management companies such as AIFMs, UCITS management companies, MIFID firms, and investment managers.
- Draft, review, and negotiate key documentation related to fund formation, operation, governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving legal frameworks impacting asset management and proactively communicate changes to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Develop strong relationships with clients by providing clear advice on complex legal issues while demonstrating commercial awareness.
- Contribute to organisational improvement initiatives by embracing change and supporting process enhancements within the team.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and training programmes designed to enhance your expertise in financial services law.
What you bring:
- Irish qualified lawyer with two to five years’ post-qualification experience gained within the funds or investment management department of a leading law firm.
- Demonstrated expertise in establishing private funds (hedge funds, real estate funds, private equity vehicles) as well as UCITS and ETFs under Irish law.
- Comprehensive understanding of regulatory regimes applicable to AIFMs, UCITS management companies, MIFID firms, and other investment managers operating in Ireland or Europe.
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with strong organisational skills that enable you to manage competing priorities effectively under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal communication abilities that allow you to build rapport with colleagues at all levels as well as external clients and professional contacts.
- Proven track record of working collaboratively within teams while also being dependable when required to work independently on complex assignments.
- Willingness to broaden your expertise into new areas of law relevant to financial services as business needs evolve over time.
- Commercially aware approach that ensures practical solutions are delivered without compromising legal integrity or client trust.
