An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Information Technology Specialist to join a highly respected public sector organisation in Dublin, playing a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of fair and transparent personal injury claims resolution.

This is a unique chance to contribute to a major digital transformation programme while ensuring the smooth running of essential ICT services that underpin the organisation’s mission. You will be part of a close-knit, knowledgeable team, working in a supportive environment where your expertise will directly impact both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic projects. With generous annual leave, flexible working opportunities, and exposure to cutting-edge technology initiatives, this fixed-term contract offers you the platform to make a meaningful difference while developing your professional skills.

What you'll do:

  • Work closely with external managed service providers to ensure reliable delivery of daily ICT services, including server management, backup solutions, disaster recovery processes, and proactive monitoring for cyber threats.
  • Take ownership of resolving issues related to existing portals, claims management systems, and Microsoft Dynamics case management platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
  • Manage incident response by escalating ICT issues appropriately and communicating effectively with stakeholders during major incidents or service disruptions.
  • Assist in managing relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring their support aligns with organisational policies and delivers value for end users.
  • Support the development and implementation of ICT-related standards, policies, and procedures such as disaster recovery plans, security protocols, and AI usage guidelines.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to ensure clarity and continuity across all IT operations.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives within IT by identifying areas for enhanced service delivery and quality assurance.
  • Lead procurement activities for ICT services and products, ensuring compliance with governance requirements and best practices.
  • Participate actively in governance forums overseeing digital solutions and proposals to align technology investments with business objectives.
  • Provide technical and application support to staff members in conjunction with managed service providers, coordinating second-level support as needed for complex system faults.

What you bring:

  • A relevant third-level qualification or professional certification in Information Technology or equivalent experience (minimum three years post-graduate experience within an ICT environment required; over five years’ experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications).
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure components coupled with proven experience managing ICT environments within medium-to-large organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and intricate interdependencies from inception through successful delivery.
  • Track record of effective contract negotiation and vendor relationship management that ensures alignment with organisational needs.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT security principles and practical experience implementing data protection measures within regulated environments.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality IT service with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and responsive support.
  • Proactive approach evidenced by previous success in identifying opportunities for process improvements or new technology adoption within IT teams.
  • Familiarity with developing IT strategies, data management plans, application development lifecycles, and supporting business-critical systems.
  • Awareness of emerging technology trends relevant to public sector organisations or similar settings.
