What you'll do:
- Provide expert advice on employment policies, handbooks, contracts, and people risk management situations including workplace investigations and protected disclosures.
- Support clients through performance management processes, disciplinary procedures, exits, severances, and other sensitive employment matters with empathy and professionalism.
- Represent clients in all aspects of employment litigation before the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC), Labour Court, Circuit Court, as well as in mediations involving board-level or senior executive disputes.
- Advise on industrial relations issues such as sectoral employment orders (SEOs), industrial action scenarios, and collective bargaining matters.
- Contribute to corporate transactions by conducting vendor and buyer due diligence on employment matters related to share sales or asset transfers under TUPE regulations.
- Assist with negotiation of transaction documents ensuring compliance with relevant employment legislation and best practice standards.
- Advise on corporate immigration matters including visa applications and compliance for multinational employees relocating to Ireland.
- Provide guidance on employee benefits including pensions schemes and insured benefits tailored to client needs.
- Engage actively in business development by meeting clients, participating in webcasts or seminars, and contributing to thought leadership initiatives within the employment law field.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues at all levels to deliver seamless service while nurturing long-term client relationships built on trust.
What you bring:
- Two to four years’ post-qualification experience as an Employment Solicitor gained within a top-tier corporate law firm or equivalent environment is required for this position.
- A strong academic background demonstrating commitment to excellence in legal studies is essential for success in this role.
- Outstanding written communication skills are necessary for drafting clear policies, contracts, pleadings, and correspondence for diverse audiences.
- Exceptional technical proficiency in Irish employment law—including advisory work, litigation procedures before WRC/Labour Court/Circuit Court—is vital for effective client representation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex assignments simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail is highly valued.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills enabling you to build trusting relationships with both clients and colleagues are crucial for collaborative success.
- Experience advising regulated firms or financial institutions on employment law matters would be advantageous but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with corporate transactions (including TUPE processes) or immigration law is considered beneficial for this multifaceted role.
- A genuine interest in participating in business development activities such as client meetings or industry seminars is encouraged by the team culture.
