What you'll do:
- Assist in maintaining and updating the communications surveillance programme to ensure its ongoing effectiveness in detecting behaviours that may breach regulatory or internal policies.
- Execute the Surveillance Monitoring Plan by reviewing, investigating, closing, and documenting surveillance alerts in a timely manner according to established procedures.
- Escalate issues identified during communications surveillance activities in line with the organisation’s escalation policy, ensuring all concerns are managed appropriately under guidance from senior leadership.
- Draft comprehensive internal and external investigation summaries as well as Suspicious Transaction Order Reports (STORs) when required by regulatory obligations or internal protocols.
- Support the preparation of internal and external reports by gathering relevant materials such as monthly Compliance Management Information packs for senior stakeholders.
- Monitor information barriers and insider trading prevention procedures to uphold market integrity and protect sensitive data across business units.
- Contribute to the application of internal compliance policies and global objectives by collaborating closely with other members of the Compliance Department.
- Conduct Quality Assurance reviews alongside the EMEA Head of Surveillance to ensure high standards are maintained across all surveillance tasks performed by the team.
- Work collaboratively on projects with colleagues from both the Surveillance team and broader Compliance function, sharing knowledge and best practices to achieve common goals.
- Participate actively in Compliance meetings, complete mandatory training promptly, and assist or coordinate compliance-related projects as needed.
What you bring:
To excel as a Compliance Associate in this esteemed financial institution’s Communications Surveillance team, you will bring proven experience from similar roles where you have demonstrated your ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. Your background should include exposure to financial markets operations along with a solid grasp of current industry regulations. Native-level proficiency in the German language, both verbally and in writing is required. Multilingual abilities are valued given the international scope of operations.
