VP - Senior GCP Cloud Engineer (Dublin based)

We're continuing our cloud adoption journey and seeking a highly skilled and motivated Google Cloud Engineers (VP level) to join our growing team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing cloud-based solutions on the Google Cloud Platform as part of a multicloud environment. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, resilient, scalable and secure solutions that meet business requirements.

Sumitomo Mitsui Finance Dublin Limited (SMFD) is a wholly owned subsidiary of SMBC and is growing rapidly as a Centre of Excellence for the bank’s universal banking business across EMEA. It provides a range of technology and operational support services, aligned to SMBC’s growth, innovation, and transformation strategies.

What you'll do:

Responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining Google Cloud core infrastructure and resources to support our business
Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD DevSecOps tools
Monitor and troubleshoot cloud environments ensuring high availability and performance
Working with Information Security, assist in the implementation and management of security best practices, including access control, data encryption and threat detection
Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud solutions with existing applications and systems
Stay up-to-date with the latest Google Cloud technologies and industry best practices
Participate in the evaluation and selection of new cloud-based technologies and services
Contribute to the improvement of cloud operations and processes

What you'll bring:

Proven experience working as a Cloud Engineer in Google Cloud Platform
Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and their Google Cloud implementation including networking, storage and security as well as other concepts such as SaaS, PaaS and IaaS
Experience and understanding of enterprise patterns and best practices around building out GCP for a regulated organisation (e.g. Landing Zones, Enterprise foundations blueprint, network and connectivity options, etc.)
Proven experience with DevSecOps practices (e.g. Git, CI/CD) and tools such as Google Cloud DevOps, Cloud Build, GitHub Enterprise and GitLab
Strong proficiency with Terraform (IaC), Docker and Kubernetes (containization technologies) are strong advantages
Solid understanding of Google Cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
Experience with scripting languages, e.g. PowerShell, Bash and Python
Strong communications and collaboration skills with the ability to produce clear documentation in corporate Wiki tools
Rights to work in Dublin is a mandatory requirement
