My client is seeking an experienced Firewall Architect to join its Security Services team. This is a senior technical role focused on designing, implementing, and governing a robust firewall architecture across a large, complex, and geographically distributed IT environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a cybersecurity professional with deep firewall expertise who enjoys shaping strategy, working across projects, and playing a key role in incident response.

The Role

As Firewall Architect, you will take ownership of firewall architecture and design, ensuring security is embedded across all IT initiatives. You will work closely with infrastructure, security, and project teams while providing technical leadership and oversight.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and maintaining firewall architecture, strategies, and roadmaps

• Acting as the primary Firewall Architect for my client’s Palo Alto firewall estate

• Producing High-Level and Low-Level Designs and supporting change processes

• Collaborating with project teams to ensure firewall requirements are met

• Contributing to and participating in cybersecurity incident response

• Providing technical oversight of firewall operations, including managed service providers

• Driving continuous improvement through research, best practices, and threat awareness

• Supporting the wider Security Services function as a subject matter expert

• Conducting firewall rule reviews and supporting security remediation activities

About You

You will be a technically strong firewall specialist with excellent communication skills and the ability to work confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You will have:

• 5+ years’ experience in firewall architecture or senior firewall engineering roles

• Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls

• Experience working in hybrid cloud environments (Azure)

• A solid understanding of cybersecurity processes and services

• Experience working with third-party vendors and managed service providers

• Strong documentation, reporting, and presentation skills

• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline

• Relevant Palo Alto firewall certifications

• Relevant cybersecurity certifications (desirable)
