Senior Java Developer (Contract)
Location: Dublin (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)
Rate: €390–€450 per day
Duration: 12 month Initial contract (with strong extension potential)
Start Date: Ideally immediately available

An internationally recognised professional services organisation is building out a high-impact technology team to deliver a major public sector transformation programme in Ireland. This is a significant, large-scale backend development project with real societal impact, offering the chance to contribute to a long-term national initiative.
You’ll join a high-performing, collaborative engineering environment working on enterprise-grade systems, modern architectures, and scalable backend solutions.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with strong backend expertise to play a key role in designing and delivering robust, secure, and scalable applications.
You will:

• Design and develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technical design decisions
• Work on a large, complex programme with multiple stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including architects, analysts, and DevOps
• Ensure high-quality code, performance optimisation, and best engineering practices
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

• Strong commercial experience in Java backend development
• Proven expertise in Spring Boot
• Experience working on large-scale enterprise projects
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
• Ability to work in structured, stakeholder-heavy environments
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be based in Ireland and able to work 2 days onsite in Dublin
