Demand Planner
A leading organisation in Dublin is seeking a talented Demand Planner to join its team in a newly created role, driven by company growth. As a Demand Planner, you will be at the heart of ensuring product availability, optimising inventory levels, and driving operational excellence across the business.
What you'll do:
As a Demand Planner, you will:
- Develop accurate demand forecasts by analysing historical sales data, market trends, promotional activities, and customer insights to ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained across all channels.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to gather relevant information and align on demand planning assumptions.
- Monitor forecast accuracy regularly and proactively identify variances or potential risks, implementing corrective actions to minimise stockouts or excess inventory.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on demand trends, forecast performance, and key metrics for senior management review.
- Utilise advanced planning tools and systems to manage data inputs efficiently and generate actionable insights that drive continuous improvement in forecasting processes.
- Participate actively in monthly Sales & Operations Planning meetings to communicate forecast updates, highlight challenges, and recommend solutions that support business objectives.
- Work with suppliers and logistics partners to coordinate replenishment schedules based on updated demand signals and lead time requirements.
What you bring:
Your background as a Demand Planner should include:
- Relevant academic qualifications such as a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics or related field are desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in demand planning or supply chain management within a consumer goods or manufacturing environment is essential for success in this role.
- Proficiency with forecasting software such as SAP APO, Oracle Demantra or similar advanced planning tools is highly desirable as it enables efficient data analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical abilities with proven capability to interpret large datasets accurately and translate findings into practical recommendations are required.
- Experience participating in S&OP processes or similar collaborative planning forums demonstrates your ability to contribute meaningfully to strategic discussions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) is expected; familiarity with Power BI or other visualisation tools would be advantageous.
- A proactive attitude towards identifying process improvements reflects your commitment to continuous enhancement of supply chain operations.
