Recruitment consultancy heads to South Africa to fill skills gap

The job market in Ireland remains one of the most active in Europe. With the decision of the UK to leave the European Union, Ireland has been the choice location for a number of institutions wanting to set-up offices in a English speaking European country. As a result, we have seen companies battling to secure talent in a candidate short market.

With the high demand for qualified accountants in areas such as audit and accounting, Robert Walters Ireland will be heading to South Africa joining our South African, UK and Dutch colleagues in a recruitment drive to fill the skills gap. The roadshow will commence in Johannesburg from the 15th - 28th of August, then heading on to Cape Town from the 29th August - 4th September and finally ending in Durban from the 5th - 7th September. The RW Ireland consultants will be meeting Chartered Accountants in Johannesburg on the 20th -24th August where they aim to target candidates seeking employment in practice and industry across the financial services and industry sectors.

There are several sectors in the Irish economy experiencing severe candidate shortages and as a result we are looking to entice qualified professionals to Ireland, and highlight the numerous opportunities which exist in the Irish market at present.

Potential candidates will be interviewed and assessed with the intention of having suitable positions on offer upon arrival in Ireland. Consultants from Robert Walters will be present to give advice on current salary trends, specific sector updates, skills shortages as well as secondary information on relocation, tax and the many social benefits of living in such a vibrant country. Robert Walters is partnering with KPMG Ireland as our main event sponsor for the 2018 South African Roadshow.

Andrew Murphy hopes to attract a large number of quality candidates to Ireland from this roadshow having seen a number of candidates from South Africa securing roles in recent weeks in the Irish market. We are partnering with our South African offices to make the transition for these candidates as smooth and efficient as possible.
