What you'll do:
- Manage a diverse caseload primarily focused on Health Law claims, ensuring each case is handled with meticulous attention to detail and empathy for clients’ circumstances.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients by providing ongoing legal support and guidance during sensitive periods in their lives, building lasting relationships based on trust and understanding.
- Play an active part in business development initiatives by contributing to marketing activities, participating in training sessions, and sharing knowledge within the team and across the firm.
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the office by overseeing administrative tasks as required, ensuring smooth workflow and compliance with internal protocols.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across different teams to identify opportunities for joint efforts that enhance service delivery within the broader Healthcare Sector.
- Handle confidential information responsibly in accordance with strict data security protocols to maintain client trust and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Support less experienced team members through mentoring, coaching, and supervision where appropriate, fostering a collegial atmosphere of shared learning.
- Engage confidently with clients on daily issues, demonstrating professionalism and sensitivity at all times while advancing claims towards resolution via negotiation, mediation or hearing.
- Stay abreast of developments in Health Law by participating in relevant training and keeping up-to-date with changes affecting the sector.
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities that contribute to the growth of both the team and the wider firm.
What you bring:
- Qualified solicitor registered in Ireland with ideally 3-5 years post-qualification experience specifically within Plaintiff Health Law.
- Demonstrated expertise in medical negligence cases is essential for success in this position.
- Experience handling Inquests is advantageous but not mandatory for consideration.
- Proficiency using alternative forms of dispute resolution such as mediation or negotiation is highly valued.
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with strong analytical abilities enables effective problem-solving for complex legal issues.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are necessary for building rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
- A practical approach to legal matters ensures solutions are client-focused rather than purely academic.
- Ability to operate independently while recognising when collaboration or escalation is needed demonstrates sound judgement.
- Team-oriented mindset with willingness to mentor or supervise less experienced colleagues contributes positively to group dynamics.
- Excellent organisational skills allow for methodical progression of claims towards timely resolution.
