What you'll do:
As the Legal Counsel for our client's team, your responsibilities will be diverse and impactful. You will provide expert legal advice on a broad spectrum of matters including insurance operations, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and contractual obligations. Your role will involve reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various contracts and legal documents. You will also manage legal disputes and claims involving the company. A significant part of your role will involve maintaining data protection policies in line with EU GDPR and the Irish Data Protection Act. You will also manage data breaches and incident response procedures.
- Provide expert legal advice to the management team on a wide range of legal matters including insurance operations, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and contractual obligations.
- Review, draft, and negotiate various contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Manage and oversee legal disputes, claims, and litigation involving the company.
- Maintain and update data protection policies in line with EU GDPR and the Irish Data Protection Act.
- Handle data subject access requests (DSARs) and other rights requests.
- Conduct regular privacy impact assessments to identify potential risks.
- Manage data breach and incident response procedures.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Legal Counsel position brings along a wealth of skills including being a Qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years PQE. You should have experience in Financial Services sector. A deep understanding of EU data protection legislation is required for this role. Your experience should include drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. The ability to manage the end-to-end process of data subject rights requests is crucial. You should be able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Experience interacting with regulators on issues relating to data protection will be advantageous.
- Qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years PQE.
- Minimum 2 years PQE in Financial Services.
- Knowledge of EU data protection legislation.
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
