An established financial services company is seeking to hire a legal & compliance officer to join their Dublin office.

Key responsibilities of the legal & compliance officer include:

• Interpretation and analysis of existing and prospective legislation (MiFID II / MIFIR, CRD IV / CRR, data protection rules etc.)
• Development of relevant compliance policies and procedures to ensure a harmonised and consistent approach is taken across the firm
• Assisting in the review and response to regulatory queries and investigations from the Central Bank of Ireland, Financial Conduct Authority and other regulatory bodies
• Assisting in the execution of the company’s compliance monitoring and testing plan (MiFID, market abuse, financial crime, data protection etc.)
• Work closely with relevant company stakeholders in relation to the interpretation and practical implementation of new regulations and laws, including Operations, Risk, Technology and front office, but also with relevant colleagues globally
• Review and draft commercial agreements and service provider agreements predominantly relating to EU capital markets infrastructure, services and, technology providers

As the legal & compliance officer you will be a qualified lawyer / solicitor / or barrister with a minimum of 1 year PQE (this level of experience is intended as guidance only and does not preclude someone with more or less experience from applying for the role). Practitioner level knowledge of MiFID, MAR and/or other EU capital markets rulebooks is advantageous. You will have experience in reviewing / drafting commercial agreements / contracts. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build relationships at all levels.
