Senior Legal Advisor - Banking/Corporate

A financial institution in Dublin, wishes to recruit a Senior Legal Advisor with a strong background in banking/corporate law. The role is a maternity cover contract for 9-12 months. The position will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer.

Background required:

Experience in corporate/banking law at a senior level, either in a leading law firm or in-house, which demonstrates expertise in:

• Equity and debt capital markets
• Irish/UK securities law, EU banking regulation and regulatory capital requirements
• Mergers, acquisitions and re-organisations
• Corporate governance, shareholder rights and documentation
• Commercial litigation and statutory investigations
• Procurement and administrative law

Qualifications:

• Be a solicitor or barrister qualified to practise in Ireland
• Have at least 7 years’ relevant PQE at a senior level in the Corporate and/or Banking Department of a leading law firm or in-house
• Have excellent technical knowledge in the core areas highlighted above

Skills & Experience

• Have proven track record of providing legal advice either in a leading law firm or in-house on significant projects/transactions
• Ability to quickly understand key business issues and operational objectives
• An effective and confident communicator of complex messages (written and verbal) to both internal and external audiences
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive team member
• Commercially minded, decisive, highly organised and principled
