Senior Legal Counsel

Robert Walters are partnering with Europe's first independent ETF investment platform in searching for a Senior Legal Counsel to join the company in Dublin. This position would ideally suit a qualified solicitor with 5-10 years PQE currently working as an in-house solicitor within an asset management/capital markets organisations or a private practice solicitor with a capital markets or funds background.

They are looking to fill this position with a ‘hands on’ commercial person, who thrives in a dynamic high growth environment and can lead projects.You will provide legal support for the group on general commercial matters and to the front office in respect of sales and marketing activities and primarily responsibility for the launch of new funds, on boarding of sponsors onto the platform and operation of an exchange traded notes platform. The Candidate will also be responsible or providing support to the Manco and governance of funds on the platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• reviewing, drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements;

• liaising with external counsel and clients to set up all documentation relating to ETFs;

• provide commercially focused legal advice on a range of commercial issues

• provide support to the General Counsel in relation to the analysis and implementation of incoming European Regulation and any compliance matters;

• primary support for the ETF range domiciled in Ireland, including drafting, reviewing and updating prospectuses, KIID documentation and funds agreements;

• interfacing with the CBI

• identifying and advising on the effective management of legal risk to the business

The ideal person will need to have 5 to 10 years’ PQE with strong project management experience. They will need to have a broad based legal background with experience in ETPs, capital markets and ideally have funds/asset management experience. This person will also need to have the ability to work in a small team in Dublin and take ownership of projects.
