A leading organisation in the renewable and sustainability sector is seeking a part-time Head of Compliance to take ownership of core compliance and money laundering reporting activities. This role offers flexible, hybrid working arrangements, making it an ideal opportunity for those seeking a part-time position (1 day per week) in a really interested space.

What you'll do:

As Part-time Head of Compliance (PCF12) and Head of AML/CTF (PCF52), you will:

  • Monitor regulatory developments and changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to crowdfunding platforms and financial services, ensuring that all operations comply with legal requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework including policies, procedures, controls, and training initiatives tailored to the needs of the organisation.
  • Conduct periodic compliance assessments and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of existing programmes and identify areas for improvement across all business functions.
  • Perform risk assessments to identify, assess, and prioritise compliance risks facing the organisation, developing strategies and mitigation plans to address vulnerabilities.
  • Oversee anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CFT) compliance efforts by managing customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity reporting processes.
  • Ensure full compliance with AML/CFT regulations through robust implementation of Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) procedures.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries, examinations, inspections, liaising with regulators, auditors, legal counsel, and other external stakeholders on compliance matters.
  • Advise senior management and the Board on regulatory changes and risk developments in payments and marketplace environments to ensure informed decision-making.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, law or related field is essential; advanced degree or professional certification such as CAMS, CRCM or CCEP is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in compliance management within financial services or similar regulated industries demonstrates your depth of understanding.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks including AML/CFT regulations, securities laws, crowdfunding regulations ensures you can navigate complex requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills enable you to assess intricate regulatory issues quickly while recommending practical solutions that benefit both business objectives and legal obligations.
  • Proven commitment to integrity, ethics and professionalism underpins your approach to all aspects of compliance work.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities allow you to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels as well as external stakeholders such as regulators or auditors.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments equips you with tools needed for identifying vulnerabilities within operational processes.
  • Ability to develop engaging training programmes supports ongoing education across teams regarding compliance policies.
  • Previous approval for PCF function (PCF-12 & PCF-52) is highly desirable as it demonstrates familiarity with Irish regulatory landscape.
  • Experience in crowdfunding or fintech markets is advantageous but not mandatory.
