Compliance Manager 6 month FTC

An investment firm are looking for a compliance manager for 6 months with the view to making the role permanent at the end of the contract. The initial 6 months will be covering the majority of head of compliance duties due to an extended sick leave. Upon the return of the head of compliance the person will report into the head of compliance acting as their number 2 and there will begin a succession plan due to retirement to bring them up to head of compliance.

Main responsibilities of the compliance manager:

• Report to the central bank as required
• Liaise with and report to the board acting as an advisor to the business on risk and compliance
• Deliver the annual compliance programme
• Keep abreast of new regulatory updates and implement them into the business
• Maintain company compliance records
• Carry out the annual risk assessment
• Provide compliance training and promote a compliance culture
• Update and implement policies and procedures
• Implement risk management strategy
• Evaluate and report on key risks

This role would suit someone who is at compliance manager level looking to make a step into a head of compliance role within the next 5 years. You will be comfortable working in an initial stand alone role and then in a number 2 role if role made permanent after contract. You will preferably have experience with MiFID or similar financial services firm. You will be confident dealing with both the regulator and senior stakeholders within the business.
