Regulatory Reporting - Data Operations - VP

We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Data specialist to join our client and lead their Regulatory Reporting Data Operations team in Dublin. This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving the transformation of regulatory reporting into a data-centric function while ensuring compliance with European regulatory requirements. You will manage a small team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, accurate regulatory reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Regulatory Reporting Data Production team, managing and mentoring two direct reports (AVP and Associate).
• Drive the implementation of a single-source-of-truth data strategy aligned with ECB requirements (e.g., iREF/BIRD).
• Oversee the preparation of regulatory reporting data for key reports such as COREP, FINREP, Pillar 3 disclosures, EBA QIS, and stress tests.
• Ensure robust controls are designed, executed, and documented effectively, including accounting reconciliations, period-over-period analysis, consistency checks, and analytical reviews.
• Review control artefacts and prepare monthly/quarterly assurance review walkthroughs with SMEs.
• Manage data quality issues by reviewing corrections and supporting remediation efforts.
• Support ad-hoc requests by ensuring effective design and execution of controls like drill-downs and movement analysis.
• Identify process inefficiencies and drive improvements using automation tools, data analytics, and visualisation solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong expertise in data analytics with advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL (for data extraction/transformation), Power BI, or similar tools.
• Proven experience leading small teams in regulatory reporting, financial reporting, or data operations within financial institutions or consultancy firms.
• Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks such as COREP, FINREP, Pillar 3 disclosures, and ECB requirements.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; professional qualifications are advantageous.
• Ability to understand complex concepts, challenge them constructively, and communicate findings clearly.
• Self-motivated leader with a hands-on approach who thrives in dynamic environments.
