Financial Accountant FTC - Sport

Robert Walters are proud to be partnering with a sports organisation to hire for a Financial Accountant for an initial 12 month contract where you will work closely with the CFO and play a key role in the success of the Sports organisation. Very flexible hybrid working model consisting of 1-2 days office in Dublin. This would suit a Big 4 trained Newly Qualified Accountant or someone 1-2 years PQE.

Key Responsibilities Financial Accountant - Sport

  • Management of the AP function
  • Management of Accounts Receivable function
  • Assist with the management of cash including: producing accurate cashflow statements, supplier payments, addition and removal of new users/approvers and creation of bank accounts.
  • Assist with the annual audit process from audit open to audit close meeting. Liaise with audit team to resolve queries and produce financial statements.
  • Assist with the budget process. Liaise with budget holders to produce ambitious budgets for the financial years.
  • Assist with the monthly forecasting with budget holders to ensure accurate forecasts are produced to enable informed Exec decision making.
  • Management of taxation returns including, VAT & VIES, RTD, CT, PAYE and 46G returns.
  • Support the Chief Financial Officer, Executive Team and Finance Manager by providing key financial information to assist with decision making.
  • Develop and manage relationships with relevant stakeholders

Key requirements of the Financial Accountant - Sport

  • Must hold an accredited accountancy qualification.
  • At least three years Accountancy experience or Big 4 trained
  • Must have excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, recognising the important of continuous engagement and the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels, many of whom have no financial background.
  • The ability to collaborate with and understand all areas of the business to contribute affectively to the finance function.
