Management Accountant Energy - Dublin City
Robert Walters are delighted to bring this new opportunity to the market with a private equity based energy organisation with a global presence. This is a newly created Management Accountant role where you will play a key role in ensuring robust financial processes, accurate reporting and business partnering across the organisation. You will need to have atleast one years PQE preferably within the energy sector. Role is Dublin City based and three days in the office.
Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant
- Accounts Payable & Purchase Orders: Process purchase orders and accounts payable invoices for approval and payment.
- Management Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Budgeting & Planning: Update project plans and budgets in Microsoft Project; assist with periodic reforecasting.
- Audit Support: Assist in managing year-end audit procedures and liaise with external auditors as required.
- Financial Modelling & Ad-Hoc Analysis: Support financial modelling and provide ad-hoc data analysis for internal/external stakeholders, including regulators, shareholders, and senior management.
- Business Partnering: Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making across the business.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of accounting processes and internal controls.
- Support Tasks: Assist with document preparation for governance meetings and maintain accurate financial records in line with company standards.
Key requirements of the Management Accountant
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with industry PQE within the Energy sector
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience in management reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in Xero, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and familiarity with Microsoft Project (preferred but not essential).
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) for effective business partnering.
- Previous experience in energy infrastructure or capital-intensive projects is advantageous but not essential.
