Financial Accountant - Renewable Energy

A rapidly expanding organisation within Renewable and Clean Energy is looking to hire an ambitious Financial Accountant to join the team. This role is based in South Dublin but offers hybrid working of three days in the office. This is an excellent opportunity to join an excellent industry and a supportive team and manager. Ideally you will be coming from an Energy or Renewables background as this is a big advantage for the role.

Key responsibilities of the Financial Accountant - Renewable Energy

  • Month-End Close: Managing and supervising month-end processes
  • Quarterly Reporting: Preparing detailed reports comparing quarterly results to budget for internal stakeholders.
  • Audit Support: Coordinating annual external audits by setting instructions/timelines, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Financial Statements: Overseeing annual financial statement preparation through Board-level sign-off while meeting legal filing requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Driving standardisation, simplification, and automation of core financial operations/reporting processes.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Assisting Accounts Payable Manager with AP processes and supporting Banking & Investor Reporting Manager with communications to project finance banks.

Key requirements of the Financial Accountant - Renewable Energy

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 2–3 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience.
  • Organised with strong time/project management abilities.
  • Experience managing outsourced providers is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other tools; exposure to automation projects is a plus.
