Senior Accountant 12 month FTC (2 days office)

A public sector client based in Dublin City Centre with a very flexible hybrid model of 2-3 days in the office have an immediate requirement for a Senior Accountant for an initial 12-month contract. Salary for this role is up to €65,000 and you will need to be immediately available to start in April.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Accountant – 12 month FTC

• Reporting to the Finance Manager, the candidate will play a role supporting the finance function in day-to-day activities.
• The candidate will ensure timely and accurate completion of day, week and month end activities.
• Support the Finance Manager and Fare Revenue Accountant on day-to-day tasks.
• Assist in the preparation, interrogation and consolidation of the monthly management accounts.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of month end tasks.
• Bank Reconciliations
• Continuous improvement of financial reporting processes
• Ensure high-quality and up-to-date procedure documents are maintained
• Provide analysis and support to the Finance Manager on any ad hoc projects
• Maintain a robust control environment ensuring continuous improvement of processes and escalation of risks and issues to Finance Manager in a timely manner
• Coordination with various stakeholders including both finance and non-finance personnel the flexibility to fulfil other roles and responsibilities at a similar level within the Authority.

• Accountancy qualification
• Strong month end experience
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail
• The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
