Senior Accountant/Financial Analysts - Public Sector FTC

A well known public sector organisation based in North Dublin with a flexible hybrid model (two days office) have a number of requirements for Senior Accountants and Financial Analysts for initial 12 month contracts due to system implementation projects with January start dates. This client are looking for experienced Accountants with month end experience. Salary is €60,000 - €65,000 DOE.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Accountant Public Sector – 12 month FTC

• Reporting to the Finance Manager, the candidate will play a role supporting the finance function in day-to-day activities. The role will require the candidate to provide support to the Finance Team so they can focus on the testing and implementation of a new financial management system.
• The candidate will ensure timely and accurate completion of day, week and month end activities during this time of testing/transition.
• Support the Finance Manager on day-to-day tasks;
• Assist in the preparation, interrogation and consolidation of the monthly management accounts;
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of month end tasks;
• Review of revenue reconciliations;
• Continuous improvement of financial reporting processes;
• Ensure high-quality and up-to-date procedure documents are maintained;
• Provide analysis and support to the Finance Manager on any ad hoc projects;
• Maintain a robust control environment ensuring continuous improvement of processes and escalation of risks and issues to Finance Manager in a timely manner;
• Coordination with various stakeholders including both finance and non-finance personnel;
• Maintain open communications with Finance management, keeping them informed of any relevant issues or queries.

Key requirements of the Senior Accountant Public Sector – 12 month FTC

• Have a professional accountancy qualification and be admitted to membership of a recognised professional body of accountants;
• Have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience;
• Demonstrate robust organizational and time management skills;
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail; and
• The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
