Finance Business Partner - Sport

A well known sports organisation have a newly created requirement for a Finance Business Partner on a permanent basis. This is a commercial focused role and three years PQE is required in commercially focused role is essential. Salary circa €70,000 - €75,000 plus benefits.

As Finance Business Partner, you will be instrumental in placing finance at the heart of decision-making. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to support robust business planning, identify cost efficiencies, and drive value through strategic initiatives. Your role will involve preparing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts while providing clear explanations for variances and actionable recommendations.

You will also lead on financial modelling, project assessments, and post-completion reviews to ensure alignment with organisational goals. With a focus on continuous improvement, you’ll help optimise systems, processes, and controls while fostering strong relationships across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality management reporting and insights, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
• Develop and review business plans, annual budgets, and forecasts.
• Coordinate month-end processes and audits.
• Provide financial modelling and analysis to support decision-making.
• Identify risks and opportunities while recommending strategies to achieve budget targets.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting and banking transactional support.
• Lead transition arrangements for new projects (e.g., ERP systems).
• Drive process improvements, automation, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Conduct reviews of supplier contracts and outsourced providers.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key requirements of the Finance Business Partner

• ACA/CIMA or similar qualification.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Strong management accounting, analytical, and reporting skills.
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., formulae, pivot tables).
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with a commercial mindset.
• Highly organised with strong multi-tasking capabilities.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
