Accounting Technician

A well‑established and progressive professional services organisation is seeking an Accounts Assistant / Accounting Technician to join its busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional looking to further develop their skills in a supportive and fast‑paced environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the day‑to‑day operations of the finance function, working closely with senior finance team members and contributing to the improvement of processes, controls and overall efficiency.

We are seeking someone with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and proven experience in a finance environment. A proactive, results‑driven approach and strong IT proficiency are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Accounts Manager, responsibilities will include:

• Raising sales invoices
• Credit control and debtor management
• Processing supplier invoices and assisting with payment runs
• Bank reconciliations
• Preparing VAT returns
• Completing P30s
• Processing bank transfers to client accounts
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting regulations
• General administration duties within a busy office environment

Ideal Candidate

• 3–4 years’ experience in a finance or accounts role
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word and general IT systems
• Mature, accountable and reliable approach to work
• ATI qualification beneficial but not essential
