Irish professionals are more motivated than last year

According to a recent survey by leading specialist professional recruitment consultancy, Robert Walters, 84% of Irish employees are motivated at work in the current economic climate. Almost 600 Irish professionals were surveyed on a variety of employment related issues ranging from work/life balance and productivity through to environmental policies and employer support.

Respondents were asked to give an indication of how motivated they felt in work in the current economic climate, with 84% of those surveyed stating that they felt ‘motivated’ in their existing role. This figure marks an increase in the motivation levels of Irish professionals from 2010, when 79% of those surveyed stated that they felt ‘motivated’ despite the uncertain economic situation. Only 16% of those surveyed in the 2011 study indicated that they were ‘not motivated at all’ which is down from 19% in 2010. This reflects a positive trend from 2009 also when 19% were feeling ‘demotivated’ in their working environment.
