The role: Our client, a leader in the FMCG industry, is currently seeking to recruit a junior buyer to support its growing operations in the North of Dublin. Critical to my clients' success is the appointment of Junior Buyer.

The role will entail:



•Liaising with internal operations team, supply chain, and external suppliers
•Maintaining a service-oriented attitude and shows strong interpersonal skills
•Must possess ability to schedule with minimum supervision
•Price query management – setting up contract prices and ensuring invoices are at the agreed price
•Negotiate product costs and payments terms with suppliers/improve financial relationships
•Negotiate with suppliers to ensure consistent supply of quality products at the lowest possible cost
•Ensure suppliers deliver product in accordance with specifications to ensure a quality product, on time and at the best price
•Provide information and guidance to unit managers in relation to products.
•Develop appropriate promotional strategies to drive sales and profitability.
•Assist in contract reviews for new and current suppliers within a timely manner.
•Ensure cost efficient purchasing procedures and discounts are maximized and reviewed frequently
The Person
•Min. a certail level of experience working in a buying environment, preferably in the Food service sector.
•Good negotiating and communication skills (written and verbal)
•Must have a retentive memory
•Ability to prioritise tasks, work well under pressure, work well on own initiative and as a part of a team
•Excellent knowledge and use of ERP systems, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
•Educated to Degree level (IIPMM Qualification preferable)
